Review: Phil Spector and the ‘Wall of Sound’

Awful doesn’t even begin to describe Phil Spector’s influence on the music industry.

The song ‘River Wide’ was bad enough, but Spector’s idiotic cramming of noise into the record really didn’t help other than to turn it into a garbled unintelligble mass.

His effect on the Beatles was worse. I was stunned when I heard ‘Let It Be’ stripped of Spector’s idiotic overdone tracks.

They should have sentenced him to stop making music.
